Hello, I am cracking up here. I have been searching the web for solutions with no avail I just don't know what I can do bar take the phone back.

I am trying to connect my phone to my home internet. I am currently connected to the internet via my home wifi. When I try to connect to my internet on the phone, type in the password, it connects and disconnects repeatedly. It is actually never connected properly.

The password I enter is 100% correct. I have checked double checked. Things I have tried, turning phone on and off, turning router on and off. I've been on yahoo answers, various forums. When I tried calling my provider last night they were closed.

My phone asks for my wireless password, not the network key which I have tried anyway.

My network provider can't help me, they say it's a problem with the internet, despite me being connected to it as I type.

Please can someone help me and in simple terms. THANKS!

in wifi settings, try menu - advance - and tick static IP address.

You also might want to make sure that your router isn't hiding your network, or isn't set to prevent connections without authority i.e. you might have to go into your routers settings and accept the phone's connections there first.

Hi I am also having problems can someone help. My daughters HTC will not connect to our home network we are on SKy the router is a DG834GT and I have set it up to access via Mac address and IP address.

I have added her HTC  (via it's MAC address ) and assigned a static IP address in the router.

On the phone I have changed it to be static IP address and set up the wifi network but when connecting it never does just starts and then disconnects.  Now I have changed it to a static IP address it will not connect to the roaming internet ( if thats what it's called)

Hope someone can help.

Cliff

First off - would suggest forgetting your current connection, and make the wifi set up is in its default configuration i.e. automatic.

On your router go in and delete the static address you set up for the phone - and make sure your router will accept connections.

Now go into the wifi - switch it on - it should find your router but shoudn't accept it yet as it should have forgotten the details as per the first step. Press menu, touch advanced, and in the available option tick the static IP Address. Now go back to the available wifi networks and choose yours. Enter the password and other details when required. On the router side make sure that the IP address that has been accepted for the phone is now approved for future connections.

Probably too late for a lot of people as I suspect that they will have upgraded by now.  I too was having the same continual disconnection problems (Netgear DG834GT) and it was driving me crazy.  I was convinced it was the router as, if I reset the router, it would be OK for a few days and then back to square 1.
Now appear to have cured the problem by downloading a great little free app from the PlayStore called WiFi Fixer. Since running this I have not had one problem and great connections.  As it is free it's worth a try

Well forget my last post. The problem returned. However, I have cured the problem. I dumped the Netgear DG834GT router for a Netgear rangemax model and now everything is fine.  Trawling around the web and there seems to be a few problems like this with the DG834GT especially ex Sky models.
