Hi, I am a newbie to this type of phone and would appreciate some help.  I have recently upgraded in the UK to the HTC Desire HD and received an 8gb micro sd card with the upgrade.  I have tried to use the sd card and found that under settings/ sd & phone storage I only have the basic phone memory listed.  2 apps Mount SD Card and Format SD card are 'greyed out'.
I have tried unchecking FASTBOOT, removing the card, re-installing the card, restarting the phone but with no success, does anyone have any ideas as to how to get the phone to see the SD card, thanks

Get the SDMount widget (place it on your desktop) and try that between your sequences. i.e. run it, switch off phone - with fast boot off, dismount and remount card, switch on phone and run it widget again. if still not there try switch off and switch on again. If still not there it could be the card. You might also want to make sure that you have no Move to SD Card apps installed - I had one that I think was causing a lot of my issues - I notice it recently had quite a few updates to fix bugs, but still haven't reinstalled. If you still can't see the card it could be for that very reason - try another one. I must admit I have my doubts about those cards, and are using a nice 8GB class 6 I had lying around and haven't had any more issues - so could be either one that was causing my issues.

Thanks for the response, I have now tried another 0.5Gb micro SD card which works ok, so I guess I have a defective 8Gb card.

In your reply you mentioned a widget called Mount SD, is this a phone widget or do I need to download this from Android market?

Hi. I am also having this problem. For the last month the phone worked perfectly and now it will not recognise the SD card. Have tried the sd card widget, turning off phone etc and still the sd card is not recognised. I didnt expect to have to get so involved with the technology of this phone. It should simply work but I guess I now have to try other sd cards, format them etc. Mmmm. Not encouraging.

The cards that have come with the phone don't seem to be particularly good even though they do have Samsung's name on it.
