Really fancy the looks of this new one.... but am I right in thinking there is no expansion slot? Can anybody confrim?

HTC website does suggest their isn't an expansion slot as they have mentioned it on previous phone - struggle to believe they are going to send out a phone without one though and such small memory. But they have made mistakes like this before...

It's a deal breaker for me, my HD + 8 gig memory card is fine, but 4 gig on a phone 'built' for music & films... it doesn't make sense?

The plot thickens.... Play.com says "4GB eMMC ROM, 768Mb RAM, microSD, up to 32GB"

I've emailed HTC direct but not had a reply  Sad

I can't find anything on the XE but the Sensation is listed as this in the UK

MarkD - was that on the HTC website as when I last looked there was no mention of the expansion slot. While I presonally think that is a mistake (i.e. it probably does) it wouldn't be the first time that HTC has made a major mistake with a decent product and left something like that out - especially when its a new product introducing new hardware etc.

Yes it was - although only for the Sensation not the XE which until now wasn't listed on HTC.com.  The XE just mentions upto 4GB storage

All the sites that are taking pre-orders (mobilephonesdirect etc) are listing it with an 8Gb micro SD Card ready installed

That's what I thought - knew the Sensation had external but couldn't find it listed under the XE which is quite a different model. If it required extra components and space to fit in the current model it wouldn't be the first time HTC has dropped something out of a phone to make the necessary space - so in some ways it wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't an external card due to having to fit in new components for the improved sound....
